SEYI Machinery Officially Held the First "SEYI Cup" Servo Press Stamping Process Design and CAE Simulation-Based Analytics Competition
SEYI Machinery has worked hard on servo press development and manufacturing for nearly 6 decades. For the very first time, it has collaborated with "Taiwan Society for Technology of Plasticity" and "High-Value Fastener Industry-Academia Technology Alliance (NKUST Fastener)". Together they held the first "SEYI Cup" Servo Press Stamping Process Design and CAE Simulation-Based Analytics Competition to determine the potential interests of young students. At the same time, cultivate technical talents in the stamping industry. After several months of research and analysis, the candidates stood out from the competition. The National Kaohsiung University of Science and Technology team earned the highest honor in the end.

SEYI Machinery Held the First "SEYI Cup" to Join Hands with Industry and Academia for Expertise: Cultivate Technical Talents in the Stamping Industry
Industry and Academia Join Hands to Brainstorm Ideas about New Cross-Domain Values
Taiwan is known as the kingdom of screws and fasteners. The machine tool industry is also the key development industry of Taiwan's trillion-dollar industry and the 5+2 Governmental Program. Stamping technology and forming molds are more than just the main processes and tools necessary for mass production. It is also a means to upgrade the fields of new energy vehicles, aerospace composites, precision medicine, and other metal industries. It can be a change for cross-industry convergence.
Driven by the industrial transformation known as Industry 4.0, it production connects to artificial intelligence (AI) to achieve the vision of smart manufacturing. As for SEYI Machinery, the servo press can be an even more powerful tool for metal forming and smart manufacturing applications. The industry and academia can better understand the strength of servo presses and be more practical. In terms of the application to better meet the needs of industrial clients, we held the first competition designed for servo press stamping process design based in Taiwan. Through the industry-academia collaboration with the "Taiwan Society for Technology of Plasticity" and the High-Value Fastener Industry-Academia Technology Alliance (NKUST Fastener)", the young students from the industry, academia, and research circles are all encouraged to get to know the servo press stamping process. They applied stamping die design and CAE analytics simulation technology, which allows them to brainstorm ideas about how to leverage that research and industry synergy for a better result (1+1>2).
Claire Kuo, Chairman and CEO of SEYI Machinery, said: "I look forward to offering a stage for young students to show their soft power in innovation by holding the SEYI Cup competition. I hope that it can be a chance for them to learn from each other through observation and learning as well as creative brainstorming. It can increase competitiveness and cultivate technical talents in the stamping industry. "
1st Taiwan Stamping Competition Offers Young Students a Stage
Based in Taiwan, SEYI Machinery sells its products worldwide and upholds its business philosophy for give-and-take from society. This time, sponsored exclusively by SEYI, the "SEYI Cup" servo press stamping process design and CAE simulation analytics competition will be held and focus on talent cultivation in the stamping industry.
This analytics competition mainly works through teamwork, starting from a series of professional and practical tutorials such as fundamentals of servo press equipment characteristics, molding training, mold design, etc. Finally, SEYI proposed the most suitable stamping process design, mold design, CAE material model, and forming, resilience, defect analysis, and another thesis. Traditionally, it introduced some new design concepts and analytical approaches for stamping manufacturing technology.
The participating teams came from the north to the south, including 30 colleges or universities such as the National Taipei University of Technology, National Central University, National Chung Hsing University, National Chin-Yi University of Technology, National Changhua University of Education, National Formosa University, National Chung Cheng University, National Sun Yat-Sen University and National Kaohsiung University of Science and Technology. There were 30 teams that participated in this competition under the professional assistance and instructions of 16 professors, several course lecturers, and the Taiwan Society for Technology of Plasticity. Through a variety of digital channels, they worked hard to educate people to promote learning. After nearly half a year of hard work, they finally selected the top 9 teams to stand on the final stage. After several months of research and analysis, the candidates stood out from the competition, and the National Kaohsiung University of Science and Technology team earned the highest honor in the end.

SEYI Machinery has dedicated itself to the Taoyuan plant for nearly 6 decades. In addition to collaborating with schools for so many years and supporting rural technical and vocational education with some social welfare groups, SEYI also has a chance to integrate the industry and academia. Hopefully, by holding this competition, SEYI can find more talents from other relevant industries to effectively promote collaboration between the industry and academia. Together, we can improve the press industrial technology and output value in Taiwan.
